Advocacy & representation
Speaking up for students and society
The MHSA voices student concerns to the university and government, and works to empower Maltese society through inclusive health advocacy.
What we do
Three strands of advocacy
Representation
We carry student concerns to the University and government — recently demanding talks over the long-delayed status of the medical faculty building and its impact on health-sciences training.
Student rights
We monitor policies affecting health-sciences students and push for fair facilities, adequate placements, and a learning environment that meets professional standards.
Community engagement
We empower Maltese society and reduce health-related social problems through culture- and gender-sensitive health advocacy and outreach.
Medical faculty building: a call for clarity
The MHSA has formally called for urgent discussions regarding the long-delayed status of the medical faculty building. Adequate, modern teaching spaces are a prerequisite for safe, high-quality healthcare education, and the Association will continue to represent these concerns until a clear timeline is published.
We invite all students to share their experiences and join the conversation at our upcoming town-hall meeting.
Our approach
Inclusive, evidence-led, student-centred
Advocacy that listens first — to students, to clinicians, and to the communities we serve.
Culture & gender sensitive
Our health-advocacy work is designed to be inclusive, recognising that health needs and barriers differ across communities and identities.
Evidence over noise
We build cases on lived student experience and professional standards, so our demands are credible and hard to ignore.
